sunbeam

when I was a tyke, my mom would sing to me "Jesus wants you for a sunbeam" and I apparently loved it. so it seems that in this respect, Caleb is taking after me. here's a video clip from last weekend of my mom carrying on the tradition with her grandson: sunbeam video (1.3 MB)

and here's another clip from today of Caleb playing with and squeaking at his alphabet abacus toy: abacus video (1.8 MB)

he's still got a stuffy head, but thankfully he's handling it pretty well.

we received that as a board book, but I didn't know it was a song. how sweet.

Didn't Nirvana do a cover of that song in their unplugged in NYC? Your mom was wayyyyy ahead of the curve bob. I need her to call my mom.

the simple answer to that question is: no.

maybe you know this already, but it appears nirvana did a cover of "the vaselines" version of that song, which actually seems more like a parody of or perhaps bitter reaction to the original kid's song.

oops. yeah I never quite got the feeling from the song that it was a very happy, God loves me type of song.

your explanation makes sense. hmmmmm, the 90s are getting somewhat stale in my memories already.
