still joy
I dont mean to give the impression that all is doom and gloom with this baby stress these days. he is still a delight, but there is still stress. he's actually a very mellow baby (which is part of the problem, but has its advantages). he freaks out when we change his diaper, but other than that, he's content to hang out and look cute, which he does very well.
it seems as if his appetite is increasing, which is an answer to prayer. mama's milk is coming in stronger. we've armed ourselves with various meds to knock out the thrush. we're settling into something of a routine and getting a bit more sleep, so things are looking up a bit. we need to remember to pray, and not just the desperate little prayers.
tomorrow is another weigh-in for Caleb, so we'll see how far he's come.
thanks to steve for this:

Dan and I learned that if we viewed it as a SEASON of life, it was much easier to get through, because we knew somewhere down the road we would get sleep! I like to think of it now as a little baby Outward Bound. No one told me that it was HARD AS HELL, and that you could love your baby and want to give them away at the same time.
I think I would have been more prepared if someone had said that it would be like a Navy Seals training camp. When you get through that initial stage, you should get a twenty-one-gun salute, a medal and a captain's badge.
The absolutely hardest stage is the first 3 months. So you guys are almost on the down slope. WAY TO GO!
It does get easier....LOTS, and they get more fun too! So hang in there and your body will recover from this shock.
Good luck,
Kat (Dan, Christopher and Benjamin)
Kat is so right... the first three months are the hardest. It is great news that he's back up to his birth weight, and don't be surprised if he does end up a little chunky after a while!
Best wishes!
