gospel of john

we just watched the dvd of the 2003 movie The Gospel of John. I haven't yet seen The Passion, so I cant make the obvious comparisons, but having the entire gospel read and acted out was very good. the entire Gospel, word-for-word, is narrated and/or acted straight through. there is zero dialogue besides what's in the Good News translation (my biggest complaint is the use of this translation, but oh well).

I wont go into the difficulties and quirks of adapting the gospel to film...for that you can check out this review. but the Word of God is indeed powerful. having taken an entire class on the Gospel of John back in college, it was very good to see and hear it with new eyes.
