tired of CNN.com
(warning: this is a bit of a rant. I try to keep these to a minimum, but sometimes it's gotta be done.)
I'm so very sick-and-tired of the Communist News Network trying to normalize perversity. for a while there it seemed like every other day in their "entertainment" section there was a headline involving something about porn and/or homosexuality. so I sent in a complaint to stop the madness. and they actually did for a while. probably a coincidence.
today there's a headline about certain employees of a certain home-improvement store appearing in a certain naughty magazine. LIKE I SHOULD CARE!!! why oh why do they do this every time?!
so I'm done with the commies. I guess I'll try npr.org for my daily news bites. sure they're as left-leaning as the rest of them, but I dont think I'll be inundated with this kinda crapola.

Hi Bob - I am a little confused by your musings about cnn.com. If you're upset by the culture of pornography and the generalized flesh trade in the US, then it seems that you'd need to direct your rant at capitalists rather than communists. Most Marxists are with you in condemning the out-of-control marketplace of culture seen on 24-hour news networks and cnn.com. Although they would perhaps do so for a host of different reasons than you, most marxian-oriented friends of mine share your exasperation. Remember that it's the amoral "free market" that encourages our "everything's for sale" mentality that ceaselessly demands our attention. A Marxist look at the situation would consider how both "consumer" and "product" are exploited in our pornographic-starved culture in the name of the almighty dollar. It's not the so-called "commies" that should concern you; it's the red-blooded American capitalists!
I would recommend setting your news-viewing dial to news.google.com.
ahh, thanks for setting me straight, jay. it's been too long since contemporary global history and global trends...
