I want a hippogriff
buckbeak is awesome. for CGI, a really beautiful and cool creature. if you have no idea what I'm talking about, go see Harry Potter 3, or better yet, read the book, as it's the best one in the series.
I really liked the movie. I had high expectations, and they were met on pretty much every count. knowing that they'd have to leave out some stuff, they still did a really good job with the story, and the cinematography was much better than in the past. so go see it.

The third book is my favorite, too. The struggles are more human and interesting. I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie.
I watched 1 & 2 with hesitation and loved them so much i read 3, 4, & 5. I can't wait to see the movie tonight and for book 6 to come out.
I love it, too!! Esp the improved cinematography...less like a "kid's" movie. We esp liked the bluebird that kept getting whomped. ha!
And Buckbeak was fantastic!! I'll admit my imagination was challenged on that one while reading the book, and the movie's rendition of him was really great.
apparently he was not only CGI, but also an animatronic puppet for closeups and such, which I think partly explains how good he looked.
